SWU has certainly encouraged my spiritual growth as well as my intellectual growth. I am so very blessed to be obtaining such a stellar education from a college that not only encourages your mind to grow but actively encourages your relationship with God to grow and flourish.

An Affordable Investment with Career Value

It's true—college may be one of the biggest expenses you encounter, but it can be one of the best investments you'll ever make—and we'll help you every way we can. The value of a college degree still remains high through higher average lifetime earning potential and lower unemployment rates over those with just a high school diploma.

When you apply for financial aid at Southern Wesleyan, we’ll develop an aid package that meets your particular needs. With little or no upfront expense for many students, your college education is more affordable than you think.

What is the difference between online and residential class formats?

While the traditional residential class model requires on-campus, in-person class times, the online format provides much more flexibility. Online degree programs are completed fully online, no matter how far away from a SWU location you might live. Courses feature primarily online instruction. Most online courses last seven weeks and can be taken year-round in three semesters (fall, spring, and summer).

How fast can I complete my degree?

Degree completion time greatly depends on the chosen program and the amount of transfer credit you may have. Please contact our enrollment staff to learn more.

What is the cost of attendance at Southern Wesleyan University?

The SWU price per course (most courses are three credit hours) includes the tuition and fees wrapped up in one cost. While most colleges charge tuition per credit hour and tack on a bunch of extra fees, SWU offers you a flat-rate cost per course with no hidden fees. Learn more about SWU’s tuition and fees.

What are the admissions requirements for Southern Wesleyan University?

Serving South Carolina & beyond for 110 years

Southern Wesleyan University has a history of providing quality, Christian education through our main campus founded in 1906 in Central, South Carolina. The campus was founded with a mission to develop Christian character in its students while giving thorough intellectual training.

In 1986, Southern Wesleyan was an innovator in South Carolina by launching its adult and graduate evening programs across the state. Now with those programs fully online, SWU has been a leader in convenient degree programs for busy, working adults for over 30 years.
