    Golf teams teed off Oct. 7 at Smithfields Country Club for Southern Wesleyan University's annual P. B. Wood Golf Tournament, sponsored by Johnny Ross Insurance – Palmetto Insurance in Anderson, South Carolina. 

    WYFF-TV personality Dale Gilbert served as the emcee for the awards presentations.

    Eighteen teams competed in this year’s tournament, named in memory of SWU administrator and noted psychologist, Dr. P.B. Wood.

    The winning teams are as follows:

    • First Place team: Reggie Hoyle, Marc Hoyle, Brian Kelly and Matt Bettencourt from team Hoyle, winning a $300 gift certificate from Golf USA (per player)
    • Second Place team: John Ross, Jr., Dean Hester, David Roh and Payton Whitlock from team Johnny Ross Insurance, winning a $150 gift certificate from Golf USA (per player)
    • Third Place Team: Tom Harding, Dan Wood, Pete Wood and John Keffer from team Alive Wesleyan Church, winning a $75 gift certificate from Golf USA (per player)
    • Closest to the Pin: John Atcheson, winning a $75 gift certificate from Golf USA
    • Putting contest: Steve Shannon, James Jenkins, George Kinsey and Tony Troiano from team Absolute Technologies, winning a box of Calloway golf balls from Golf USA (per player)
