Three students are advancing to the National level of the NATS (National Association of Teachers of Singing) competition this summer. From left, they are Josh Amerson of Rock Hill, Alex Birch of Six Mile, and Zach Wheeler of Kannapolis, N.C., placed in their category at the Regional level of the NATS competition in March. All three are students of Dr. Amber James, professor of music.

Founded in 1944, National Association of Teachers of Singing, Inc. (NATS) is the largest professional association of teachers of singing in the world with more than 7,000 members in the United States, Canada, and more than 35 other countries.
