Beta Beta Beta Biological Honor Society Induction
CENTRAL, S.C. – On Thursday, March 24, 2022, the 4th class of 18 new members were inducted into the Eta Delta Beta chapter of Beta Beta Beta Biological Honor Society at Bryant Lodge. In 2019, the Eta Delta Beta chapter was established at Southern Wesleyan University.
Beta Beta Beta (TriBeta) is an honor society for students, particularly undergraduates, dedicated to improving the understanding and appreciation of biological study and extending boundaries of human knowledge through scientific research.
Membership is awarded to biology, pre-medical, pre-dental, environmental studies, and exercise science majors and minors who have completed at least one term of the second year of a four year curriculum, at least three semester courses in biological science, of which one is not an introductory course, with an average grade of B in each course, and have an overall GPA of at least a 3.0.
Dr. Staci Johnson, Chair of the Division of Science and Coordinator of Biology Program, and Dr. Michelle Eller, Assistant Professor of Biology, serve as faculty advisors. Dr. Johnson comments on the recent inductees saying, "We are so proud of the work of the 2022 class of Tri-Beta inductees. This group has had 2 years of their education upended by the pandemic. Their excellent performance in spite of these challenges is an inspiration."
