German evangelist speaks at SWU

Dr. Theo Lehmann spoke April 23 at Southern Wesleyan University in Central, sharing his spiritual journey as an evangelist ministering within communist-ruled East Germany.

Translating for Lehmann was Ed Arnold, retired Clemson German professor and longtime friend. Along with Lehmann was Joerg Swoboda, who performed a few Christian songs in German. The author of more than 20 books and composer of numerous songs widely sung in churches and evangelical gatherings, Lehmann today is his country’s foremost evangelist. Lehmann’s visit to SWU was sponsored by the Spiritual Life Department of Southern Wesleyan University, First Wesleyan Church/ALIVE of Central and the Littlejohn Community Center.
