More than 300 attend seminar on church safety at SWU

    Southern Wesleyan University hosted a church safety seminar Jan. 20, covering a wide variety of safety and security topics aimed at ensuring a safe worship environment. Jason Cansler (pictured), safety and medical director of Westgate Baptist Church and School (WBCS) in Spartanburg, speaks to the audience of pastors, church leaders and security team members. Also speaking was Jason Rochester, who joined Rochester Insurance as an agent in 2013 after spending five years as an assistant pastor in Reading, Pa. The event, hosted at Southern Wesleyan’s Central campus, was organized in conjunction with the university’s Divison of Religion, ALIVE Wesleyan Church, Brotherhood Mutual Insurance Company, Rochester Insurance and SWU Conference Services.
