Southern Wesleyan University has received recognition from Intelligent.com for several top-rated programs.

    Supply Chain Management

SWU’s Supply Chain Management is meeting the needs of the workforce as the demand is expected to continue to increase by 4% over the next decade (U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics). Not only did SWU receive the #2 spot out of 160 colleges assessed, SWU also clinched “Best Online Program”. Programs were evaluated on the basis of flexibility, faculty, course strength, cost, and reputation. All level of degrees were considered, which included 366 education programs.

"The Supply Chain Management program at Southern Wesleyan University continues to be ranked among the best in the Nation for its relevancy to working professionals and others who are interested in changing careers in this field,” commented Dr. Raul Chavez-Negrete, Associate Professor of Benson School of Business. “The content and design of our courses incorporate current methodologies and research applicable to managing supply chains locally and globally. In addition, ethical practices are integrated and discussed in our courses."

    Educational Leadership

Among 242 education programs, SWU ranked #8 overall and received the acknowledgement of “Best for Virtual Teaching”. In a year when so many teachers have had to move from teaching in a classroom to teaching over a computer screen, SWU is happy to meet the needs of those who serve our communities and students so well.

“The Southern Wesleyan University Master in Educational Leadership prepares individuals with the tools required to teach virtually as well as to serve as teacher leaders in school settings,” shared Dr. Sandra McLendon, Dean of the School of Education and Professor Education. “The University also emphasizes that our future graduates must model a Christian ethical care toward their learners, colleagues and community. The COVID crisis highlighted a need for a Master in Virtual Teaching which can be met by this degree.”

    Education Administration

Recognized as “Best for Administration and Supervision”, SWU’s MEDAS program ranked #8 overall out of 324 graduate education administration programs. Allowing teachers to continue in the classroom while pursuing their degree, SWU’s MEDAS program enables graduates to go beyond in the classroom as a principal or educational leader.

Dr. McLendon highlights the distinguished characteristics of SWU’s program as it “prepares individuals with the skill sets required to lead a school with confidence. The curriculum emphasizes that our future school administrators must model a Christian ethical care in making decisions, interacting with parents and students, building leadership capacity in the teachers and the staff. With over a 95 percent pass rate on the certification test, Southern Wesleyan graduates are in administrative positions throughout South Carolina.”
