Online special education courses available through Southern Wesleyan University

    Southern Wesleyan University offers online courses for teachers seeking a special education certification through a fully-funded scholarship program.

    Through the South Carolina Department of Education Office of Special Education Services, SC CREATE exists to prepare highly qualified professionals who will serve the needs of students with disabilities in South Carolina public and charter schools and SCDE-operated programs.

    SC CREATE fully pays tuition and textbook costs for full-time South Carolina educators completing coursework required for add-on, alternative, or initial licensure in special education and advanced licensure in speech-language pathology. Individuals employed full-time in South Carolina public/charter schools and SCDE-operated programs are eligible, including teachers, teacher assistants, non-instructional staff, and central office staff in non-leadership positions.
