Rev. Ken Dill, university chaplain, leads in a service of prayer and remembrance for Doctor and the other eight Charleston church shooting victims June 19 at Sheriff National Guard Memorial Flag Plaza, where flags are being flown at half-staff.

SWU administration and employees were joined by members of the surrounding community at the Sheriff National Guard Memorial Flag Plaza, under flags being flown at half-staff. Dill called the victims' names as SWU employees set nine red roses beside the fountain at the plaza's center. The service, which began with remarks from President Todd Voss, concluded with Greg Day, professor of music, playing on his trumpet "Amazing Grace."
