Southern Wesleyan University’s Adult and Graduate Studies offers adults throughout South Carolina a non-traditional collegiate option to earn a master’s degree in business administration.

The program is designed for busy adult professionals who want to build their business education foundation to further their career objectives.

“Southern Wesleyan’s program, based on national standards, provides high academic quality and leadership skills. Graduates from the program will use their skills to become effective leaders not only in the business environment but also the community,” said Wallace Cook, AGS director of enrollment. “The MBA degree program can have a direct financial and professional effect on those earning it.”

Among the many benefits of earning an MBA is an increased salary. According to Graduate Management Admissions Council data, salaries and signing bonuses of new graduates took a double digit jump in 2005 to $106,000. This salary level and signing bonus was up 13.5 percent from 2004, according to a GMAC survey of 5,829 students who graduated in 2005.

Southern Wesleyan’s MBA program emphasizes strategic management concepts and principles and allows students to develop additional knowledge and skills in business management. The MBA program is designed to allow adult students to apply their coursework to their current jobs.

The Christian-based accelerated format of Southern Wesleyan’s Adult and Graduate Studies program makes Southern Wesleyan easy to incorporate into busy lifestyles. Southern Wesleyan’s AGS program was the first to offer an accelerated format in the upstate area and is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year.

Southern Wesleyan is accepting applications for the MBA in each of its seven remote learning sites throughout South Carolina. The university also offers an associate of science in business, associate of arts in general studies, bachelor of science in business administration, bachelor of science in management, master of education and master of science in management.
