Southern Wesleyan to offer online master’s in education
A master of education degree in classroom leadership is projected to begin March 23, 2014. This online graduate program is designed for advanced professional development of educators, qualifying them for a pay increase for earning this advanced degree. The program is designed for individuals who have earned a bachelor’s degree in education and state certification and have one year of teaching experience.
Teachers with master’s degrees who are seeking to become certified in a specific content area will also be able to take online courses that will help them attain add-on certification from the South Carolina Department of Education. These areas include Literacy, Learning Disabilities, Gifted and Talented and Early Childhood Special Education.
Southern Wesleyan University currently offers online bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Business, as well as an online associate of arts degree in general studies.
