Southern Wesleyan University Announces Record-breaking Fall 2025 Enrollment

Central, S.C.— Southern Wesleyan University (SWU) has announced a record-breaking incoming and transfer class for Fall 2025, welcoming 242 new students according to the official census report. This marks the largest incoming class since 2018 and represents a 24% year-over-year increase compared to Fall 2024.
At a time when a 5% YoY increase is considered a positive trend in higher education, SWU’s 24% YoY enrollment growth stands out as an exceptional accomplishment. Increased enrollment was seen across the board, with non-student athlete enrollment rising 17.6% and student athlete enrollment increasing 28.1% thanks to strong partnerships and recruitment efforts by the athletics program and the entire campus community.
“This achievement reflects the dedication of our Admissions office and the support of the entire university,” said Dr. William Barker, President of Southern Wesleyan University. “This year, we are especially grateful to have surpassed 20% growth, welcoming one of our largest classes in recent history.”
Caleb Eppling, Associate Vice President of Enrollment Management, added, “Thanks to the efforts of the Admissions Office with the support of the entire campus, we are grateful to have helped grow enrollment roughly 24% year over year for Fall of 2025. We are thrilled with this momentum and excited to build on this foundation as we look toward the next recruiting cycle.”
