Southern Wesleyan University inducts new ‘MISTERS’

    Patrick Hampton of Spartanburg; Allen Williams of Seneca; Christian May of Smithville, Ga.; and Jarvis Johnson of Central were inducted into the Call Me MISTER program at Southern Wesleyan University during a ceremony Oct. 20 at Freedom’s Hill Church on the Central Campus. Attending the ceremony were education students enrolled in the MISTER program at SWU, along with program mentors. 

    The Call Me MISTER (Mentors Instructing Students Toward Effective Role Models) trains and places teachers from a diverse background into the state’s lowest performing elementary schools.
