    Southern Wesleyan University is mourning the loss of Prof. Lillie Lewis, 68, who passed away Sept. 13 at McCall Hospice House in Greenville.

    Lewis came to Southern Wesleyan University, where she served on the faculty of the School of Education for 10 years.

    She retired from The School District of Greenville County, where she served in many different positions, including teaching in middle and high school and serving as principal on the elementary, middle and high school levels.

    Lewis earned her M.Ed. in reading plus 30 hours in administration from Furman University. She was very involved in her church, Rocky Creek Missionary Baptist Church.

    Surviving are two daughters, Nerissa Lewis of Greenville and Cestine Lewis Latimore of Mauldin; one sister, Yvett Goodlett of Greenville; two brothers, James P. Goodman Jr. of Newberry and Maurice S. Goodman of Fountain Inn; and three grandchildren.

    Funeral services for Lewis took place Sept. 18 at Rocky Creek Missionary Baptist Church in Simpsonville. Interment was at Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Piedmont.
