Southern Wesleyan University students Sofia Gomez, center, and Anna Argot check out some freebies at the university’s street fair Aug. 17 at Founders’ Hall on the campus in Central. At left is Bonnie Littrell, manager of First Citizens Bank in Central.

Gomez is a senior biology major from Lawrenceville, Ga. and Argot is a freshman English education major from Staunton, Va. After the first day of fall classes, Southern Wesleyan students attended the street fair to learn about area businesses and organizations, register for prize giveaways and sample goodies from area restaurants. Vendors made donations to Camp Hope, located in Clemson, which is dedicated to people with special needs and their families.
