SWU adopts test-optional admissions
Southern Wesleyan University recognizes that many prospective students have been unable to properly prepare and take the SAT and/or ACT due to the challenges associated with COVID-19.
The pandemic has created much disruption to the college search process, including the availability of standardized tests in many situations.
With much considering to these realities, Southern Wesleyan University adopted a test optional admissions process for the spring and fall 2021 semesters. A comprehensive approach to reviewing applicants includes an in depth review of applicants’ high school academic work, extracurricular activities and college motivation. The university still encourages students to submit test scores, if applicable, as a part of their admissions application.
Students from South Carolina are still highly encouraged to take the SAT and/or ACT as soon as possible to be eligible for state financial aid.
