SWU Athletics Conducting Mascot Survey

SWU Athletics Conducting Mascot Survey

As Southern Wesleyan University begins the process of moving athletic programs to the NCAA, what will the Warrior spirit look like in years to come?

An online survey offers the chance to either suggest a new mascot for the school, or to vote to keep the current mascot. Responses are confidential and anonymous.

“We value the opinions of Southern Wesleyan students, alums, supporters and the surrounding community as we gather information about our mascot,” said Chris Williams, SWU athletic director. Williams added that the survey will help determine how to enhance the identity of the university. It will also aid them in future decisions about continuing as the Warriors or to seek another identity.

The survey is admittedly unscientific, and responses are not a binding vote, but Williams says it will provide valuable input into the decision-making process as Southern Wesleyan moves its athletics program forward.

“We hope to close the survey by late-February, so get your vote in today,” Williams said.
