Dr. Don Campbell, professor of music and director of choral activities at Southern Wesleyan University, directs the Western Region Honor Choir at Newton Hobson Chapel and Fine Arts Center’s auditorium. This is the 10th year of the university hosting the choir composed of students from several South Carolina high schools.

High school choral students from across the Upstate and Midlands visited Southern Wesleyan University’s campus in Central for intensive training, culminating in a concert performance Jan. 18.

This year’s choir is composed of students from Daniel High School, West Oak High School, Southside Christian School, Pickens High School, Liberty High School, Boiling Springs High School, Palmetto High School, Seneca High School, Powdersville High School and Walhalla High School. Schools participating for the first time this year will be Belton-Honea Path (BHP), Airport and Clinton high schools.

“We are excited and honored to have almost 200 choral students on our campus this week,” said Jane Dill, chair of SWU's Fine Arts Division.
