Ronald O'Dell of the Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island (second from right). Pictured with O’Dell are a few of many in the SWU community who serve or have served in the military: Petty Officer Third Class Alex Gebert, a religion major from Central serving in the U.S. Navy Reserves; Cpl. Chris Peck, a criminal justice major from Pelzer who served in the U.S. Marines; Col. Brad Fipps, SWU religion professor retired from the U.S. Army Reserves; and Cpl. Joshua Williams, a psychology major from Greer who served in the U.S. Marines.
