SWU Welcomed Community to Campus for State of Central

CENTRAL, S.C. — The State of Central, a Clemson Area Chamber of Commerce annual event, was held on the campus of Southern Wesleyan University on May 22, 2025. The event featured updates from the university and the Town of Central, bringing the community together for a celebration of all the positive things happening in the region. Dr. Bill Barker, President of Southern Wesleyan University, delivered a state of the university address emphasizing the optimism and enthusiasm felt on campus.
“I am thankful to the Clemson Area Chamber of Commerce for bringing together our university, the Town of Central, and the community for an incredible night of fellowship,” said Dr. Bill Barker. “We feel blessed to be part of a town and affiliated with a chamber that supports our mission and collaborates with us for the betterment of the university. I am proud to say that the state of the university is Christ-centered, professional, vibrant, and gaining strength daily. We are encouraged by the growth and the promising future ahead, and we are deeply thankful to God for His steadfast love and the goodness He has shown to our university.”
