Dr. Bob Black autographs a copy of his book, "To Serve the Present Age" for Marilyn Hollingsworth in front of Nicholson-Mitchell Christian Ministry Center during Homecoming, which took place Oct. 26 at Southern Wesleyan University’s Central campus.

Hollingsworth is the daughter of the late Dr. Virgil and Mary Mitchell. The book highlights the history of the iconic building and the ministries of Dr. Roy S. Nicholson and Dr. Virgil A. Mitchell, along with others who impacted the lives of students over the university’s 107 years of existence.

Black is a professor of religion at Southern Wesleyan and a 1967 religion graduate.

The book is being offered as a thank you gift to donors who contribute at least $100 to the Nicholson-Mitchell Christian Ministry Center. Approximately $800,000 is still needed to purchase and renovate this beautiful church.
