Southern Wesleyan University faculty, staff and friends waved flags and cheered the Wounded Warrior Escort June 19 as they passed in front of the Central campus on the way to several days of well-deserved R&R at Keowee Key. The event was organized to honor visiting Marines from Camp LeJeune, as well as a group from the Marine Corps Upstate Wounded Warrior Regiment. Each year the escort passes in front of SWU’s campus along S.C. Highway 93.

The purpose of “Honoring Their Service” is to give the community an opportunity to say thank you, and to show members of our military, and our veterans, that there are people who appreciate their service.
