Dr. Adams' passion for special education and individuals with disabilities stems from her relationship with her older sister who has an intellectual disability. Adams was a special education teacher in the School District of Pickens County for eight years. She left her teaching job to pursue her Ph.D. in special education at Clemson University. While in her doctoral studies at Clemson, Adams developed a new passion for educating pre-service teachers. She looks forward to working with a new generation of teachers at SWU each year.
Something people might not know: Simone was a member of the first Tiger Dancer dance team for the band at Clemson in her undergraduate student days. She is married to an educator. She and her husband have one daughter and one son.
