About Dr. Mary Helen C Martin:
After devoting a thirty-year career to public education, God opened another door and allowed me to continue as an instructor of physical education here at Southern Wesleyan. I feel fortunate to share the pedagogy of physical education with SWU students. What a summit honor it is for a veteran teacher to help pass the torch to the next generation of teachers.
The BS in Physical Education degree at SWU offers everything you need to teach K-12 students. Our teaching and coaching concentrations help you find the path that calls you. You’ll learn the science, theory, and practical strategies behind running an engaging and effective physical education program.
Our faith-filled program will help you integrate a Christian ethic of care into your instructional practices and provide the foundation for planning, implementing, and evaluating learning experiences that meet students’ needs.
