Minors for Online Undergraduate Programs

What are Minors?

A major is the primary course of study completed in your bachelor's degree. A minor is a secondary area of study that can be in addition to a major, requires fewer credit hours to complete, and is a great way to utilize required general elective credit hours.

A minor can help fill in gaps of knowledge needed for a specific career as well as compliment your major to give you a competitive edge in a particular field. Minors do not have to be related to your online degree area of study.

A minor consists of 18 to 24-semester hours of specified courses in the discipline. At least six hours of courses to be included in the minor must be taken under Southern Wesleyan University faculty.
